Aolani Millsap, who prefers to be called Lani, serves as the Youth Liaison at the LaShauna Matthews Center. In this role, she connects young people to the Center’s programs, advocacy efforts, and community outreach, ensuring youth voices are supported, empowered, and heard.
Lani’s passion for service began with nine years in the youth program at River of Life Word Ministries Church, where she participated in community outreach such as visiting nursing homes, volunteering at the Las Vegas Mission, and serving families at The Shade Tree. She also sang in the Children’s, Youth, and Selah Adult Choirs and served on the Youth Praise Dance Team, strengthening her leadership, creativity, and commitment to service.
Professionally, Lani worked at Big 5 Sporting Goods, where she was promoted to a lead position, demonstrating strong leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. She now brings those skills to her work mentoring and engaging youth at the Center.
Lani is a proud mother of a 5-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, which fuels her dedication to creating safer, more supportive communities for young people. She enjoys art, painting, and hairstyling, using creativity as a way to connect and uplift others.
